Natalia Silva Santaularia
Natalia is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Cologne at the Institute for International Peace and Security Law of Prof. Kreß. Natalia holds a Law Degree from Navarra University (Spain) and a Diploma on Anglo-American Law from the same university. She studied her LL.M. in Human Rights and Criminal Justice in Utrecht University (The Netherlands).
Prior to the commencement of her Ph.D. studies, she interned in the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Once in Colombia, she served as a human rights consultant for the General Prosecutor’s Office and as a legal advisor for the incipient Special Jurisdiction for Peace. Since 2016, she works as a Research lecturer in the Research Centre for Philosophy and Law in Externado University (Colombia).
In her Ph.D. thesis, Natalia analyses how flexibility of due process guarantees in transitional justice trials can be limited, focusing on the Colombian Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
