Elisa is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the University of Cologne. She studied law at the Universities of Cologne and Florence and specialised in international law and international criminal law. During her studies, she worked in the Refugee Law Clinic Cologne, a non-profit organisation that provides legal assistance for refugees and migrants, where she assisted several asylum cases.
After successfully completing her law studies she commenced her PhD thesis at the Institute for International Peace and Security Law of Professor Kreß.Her research concerns the duty to prosecute in transitional justice situations, focussing on Colombia’s peace process with the FARC-EP.
Together with colleagues and other PhD students in the field of transitional justice, Elisa is the co-founder of the research group on transitional justice at the University of Cologne.
